5th Grade Parents! We would absolutely love to have your student join our 6th grade band! Please have a conversation with your student about joining the band. They may be hesitant at first, but with your support, band may open up a world of possibilities for your student. The lessons learned in band will last your student a lifetime. Please see the FAQ attached. If you have other questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Bateman at rbateman@gcssd.org

Softball tryouts will be April 15, 17, 19 at softball field, 3:15-5:15. All students will stay after school and walk to the field together.
Physicals must be completed and submitted to dragon fly BEFORE trying out.

Parents - as warm weather approaches, please help us by ensuring students are adhering to the dress code. Shorts and skirts need to hit at the students fingertips. Running shorts are not in compliance. This policy is consistent with that of the high school.

SGCMS is so thankful for community leaders like Ms. Renee Morris and Ms. Misty Sharp from Centennial Bank for taking the time to teach financial literacy and interview skills to our 7th graders. We also appreciate the “swag bags” with sunglasses.

Thank you to Leaders Credit Union and Ms. Carrie Cantrell for leading 8th graders through a financial reality simulation. Students were tasked with creating a budget for a mock family of three with jobs, debt, and bills. CONGRATULATIONS to all of the Music Educators throughout Gibson County Schools for working so hard to make music important in our community!
The Gibson County SSD has been recognized as a #BestCommunitiesforMusicEducation!
Let’s celebrate the district’s dedication to music education for all students. This is a NATIONAL HONOR but locally we were one out of only 15 districts for the entire state to receive this distinction and the only district from our local area!
